Karolina Kurkova Dubbed ‘Sexiest Woman In The World’

Posted in Just a Serious Topic, Personal Development on November 21st, 2008 by RahzS
Karolina Kurkova

Karolina Kurkova

Breakthroughs debates why are we ranking woman instead of simply respecting them.
Ok, Karolina is dubbed the sexiest woman in the world, and nowhere in the blog post today did it say anything about who she really is. As a reader I would rather learned more about about Karolina the person, her interest, favorite foods, and of course her fitness regiment. We’ve become a society that that spends more time praising and worshiping celebrities than respecting the careers of people who are really making a difference in the world everyday. For example how many teachers got a standing ovations, or Huge contract increases like Johan Santana’s $137.5 million, six-year contract with the New York Mets.
Are our values just a little confused?Should we be spending more time building women up and giving them the respect they deserve over posting how sexy we believe they are. I’m a big fan of attractive women, but there are many resepctful ways of expressing how we value women then labelling them on sexuality.
Is this picture motivating or degrading?

Is this picture motivating or degrading?

Is is what we want people to believe is sexy?

Will this picture motivate young girls to have high self-esteem?

Does Karolina exhibit a Healthy woman?

Does this picture teach young boys that women are more than objects?

Just a few questions that this blog post bought to my mind. I’m curious what question my blog brings to the readers mind. If you have a comment leave it in the box below, and I’ll reply directly to you personally…

Breakthrough The Cold Weather

Posted in Inspiration, Uncategorized on November 19th, 2008 by Greg

I learned a valuable lesson the other day. I was listening to a CD that talked about the psychology of asking. Within the CD the author asked “how many people’s lives did you add value to today?”

When I finished up with a client in the mid afternoon, I noticed a homeless woman pushing a shopping cart up a steep hill collecting bottles in freezing weather.

It didn’t phase me until I got into my car and heard the same CD. I remembered the question “how many lives did you add value to today?”

I shook my head and said aloud “Not Enough.” So I went to the local gas station and bought a cup of coffee and bagel with butter. I also noticed 1 glove in my car that I haven’t worn for a few years that was still in great shape. Unfortunately I only had one :( .

When I approached the woman with these items, her face lit up with such joy and it put a smile on my face. I knew then that I just added value to someone’s life.

Now everyday, I think to myself how can I add value to more people on a daily basis whether within my career of coaching or in general life.

This post has nothing to do with fitness or nutrition. It has to do with VALUE. How much value can we give to people all around? I’m talking year round, not just during the holidays.

Breakthrough To Elite Self-Protection Status

Posted in Breakthroughs To Fitness News, U.S Current News on November 16th, 2008 by Greg

Breakthrough to elite self-protection status?

Many people state that they don’t need to know self-protection or put zero thought into investing in their personal safety

Well according to William Reuter, founder and president of elite self-protection, everybody and anybody must learn self-protection and safety strategies. Breakthroughs To Fitness has had the pleasure of masterminding with this company and learning their values. William has truly opened our eyes to the world that is out there and to the world he creates with his students; A world of self-confidence, self-empowerment, and of course personal safety.

To side track, allow us to tell a few stories:

Just recently, a young 37 year old Marcelo Lucero, was stabbed and killed in Patchogue, New York. It was a hate crime that happened in an area that is on the rise as a community. Things have been peaceful until this event that happened November 11th, 2008.

Leah Walsh, a 29 year old teacher, was strangled by her husband in Bethpage. Her body was dumped on the Seaford Oyster Bay Expressway.

Ali Kamara was beaten by four males on election night when Obama was elected President. He was a 17 year old high school student that was minding his business when out of no where, he was attacked.

Peter Martocci, a 290 pound linebacker, raped and sodomized an 18 year old student on the atheltic field in Sayville. Now this rape victim has to live with an experience that no one should go through .

Now granted, you hear stories like this everywhere, and we could have posted another 1000 stories. The point is, most situations could be prevented or reduced under a self-protection system William Reuter created. He is a true community server with a vision that expands the globe. He goal is to create global awareness and a global self-protection system that anyone, of any age, of any sex, could greatly benefit from.

We are truly blessed to have met William, because now it is extra value we can hand down to our loyal clients, readers, and subscribers. Our mission is to educate, empower, and inspire individuals to create the body they deserve. With Elite Self-Protection’s system, we now can teach them to protect that body they deserve.

Both companies visions and missions are parallel, and we look forward to working with William in making our communities safer, healthier, and a happier place to live.

It’s Not About Breaking Down But Breaking Through

Posted in Get your Health questions Answered, Nutrition, Wellness on November 16th, 2008 by Greg

There is a whole new world of living outside of this picture. Do not fall prey to this lifestyle.

It is not an uncommon act to see individuals beating their bodies up beyond a safe point when it comes to nutrition and exercise.

We live in a society of extremes and forget how to balance our lives out and live a healthy life in the middle. One extreme is very common and often published in papers. That is the extreme of overeating and lack of or zero exercise. That extreme we call the overweight or obese population. Granted, there has to do more to that population then just those two variables, but for simplicity sake we will just use exercise and nutrition.

The population that gets overlooked are what we label as the “gym rat” or “cardio queen”. These two populations go to the extreme of over training and under eating. They believe in pumping up the hours in the gym while maintaining an excessively low nutrition lifestyle.

Now logically it makes sense, because we have all done it. But when it comes down to the facts and stories, its harmful. It’s not about how much you can break your body down, rather how many breakthroughs can you have with your body and mind.

Those “gym rats” and “cardio queens” have such an addiction to vanity that they can’t help but exercise all the time and restrict their lives of healthy eating. What kind of life is that? This is not me bashing. It’s a way of teaching you that there are other ways to create the body you deserve without killing yourself.

Let’s start with the basic symptoms of over training, and I will discuss in another post ways to avoid it and techniques to train smart and eat smart. If you feel any of these symptoms, take a few days of rest or even a week and come back to the gym with a plan(marked in red are generally the ones that pop up first):

* Washed-out feeling, tired, drained, lack of energy
* Mild leg soreness, general aches and pains
* Pain in muscles and joints
* Sudden drop in performance
* Insomnia
* Headaches
* Decreased immunity (increased number of colds, and sore throats)
* Decrease in training capacity / intensity
* Moodiness and irritability
* Depression
* Decreased appetite
* Increased incidence of injuries.
* A compulsive need to exercise

Again it’s about creating breakthroughs with your body and not so much of how badly you can break your body down. If you are part of this extreme, I challenge you to change for 30 days. Rest for a few days and then plan on cutting down your exercising and increasing your nutritional intake.

WARNING!!! It is not uncommon to see yourself gain a few pounds when changing like this. You are creating a shock to the body, so give it time to adjust. Usually while overtrained, your metabolism is very low. Allow your body to adjust back to a normal way of living and I promise the results will be even better. Ride the wave and come out victorious.

Dedicated to your results,

Greg Kalafatic

Can you Have Too much Passion?

Posted in Motivational, Wellness on November 14th, 2008 by RahzS

The Breakthrough Specialist

Wellness Coach Rahz Slaughter

As a health professional there are times I feel I’m too passionate. Todaywas one of those days my passion was tested. I let my passion show my disappointment in a client because they told me something they had eaten and I was really disappointed that they would choose such a horrible poison to inject into their body. I only had about 15 minutes remaining in the hour long session, but it felt a lot longer. The client I’m referring to is a great person and I can’t wait to see the new person they become once the release the extra weight which is holding them back from being all they can be. Life is meant to be lived, and if you’re not at a healthy body weight it’s really tough to enjoy life.

As i write this post I’m starting to answer my own question, No you can’t have too much passion when it come to a person life. As a profession Wellness coach it is my duty to let everyone who can receive my message that eating crap and not exercising will lead to a slow and painful death. I’m committed to spreading the word that your health is the most important activity in your life. I’m not running for office so if you don’t like it…Deal-with-it ! In today’s world too many people are more concerned with being liked than respected, Not Coach Rahz Slaughter aka “The Breakthrough Specialist”

To Be A Kid Again

Posted in Uncategorized on November 11th, 2008 by RahzS

B2F Boys Being Boys

To Be a Kid Again would Be Fun

To Be a Kid Again would Be Fun

 Yes playing around and being silly with 11 and 12 year old boys can be Fun!!!

Can you remember what it felt like to be a kid again? Can you think back to the days when all that matter was what fun activitiesyou were going to do with your friends outside. I grow up during a time where it was normal to see children running around all day, and coming home at 6pm sweating and dirty. I can remember riding my bike with friends during the summer and never wanting to come home. I loved being outside and playing all kinds of games and sports. Those were the good old days, as I think back. I’m still inclined to think that those days are the same day but my perception of fun has changed. Today I got to be a Kid again and it was Fun with a capital F.

Evan Z. is an exceptional young client of Breakthroughs and he celebrated his 11thbirthday today with a sports themed party. The B2F Boys Greg and Rahz got to play game day organizers. It was the most fun I’ve had in months. Now don’t get me wrong I practice living a full and balanced life, but I had forgot how good it felt just to lay for the sheer fun and love of the game. Greg and I played basketball with the kids, we played a very competitive 2 handed touch football game, and on top of all that lacrosse was mixed into the day. It was a all sports bang it up, and have some fun day. After a few hours of playing around with 11 and 12 year old boys I hit the gym for a quick lift which was the Icing on the cake for me. No excuses just get it done. Yes I was slightly tired, but I scheduled my workout in and It was going to get completed or I was going to die doing it. It’s that simple set a goal and make it happen by any means necessary. That’s the mindset of champions and I’ve had the honor to learn from a few in my day.

Before I close this post I want everything to start to add days like this one into the lives. I made a promise to myself that I’m going to seek opportunities to be a kid again. In this world where everything is we do as adults is stressful and all business we require breaks in time to just be a kid. Life is supposed to be lived to the fullest, not just about producing all the time. Stop and just be….

3 Simple Tips to Getting Fired up For a Super Workout

Posted in Coach's Workouts, Get your Health questions Answered, Sports on November 8th, 2008 by RahzS

Breakthroughs To Fitness

Tip Series

The pre-workout mindset is very important to the overall success of your session. With time being so limited in today’s world it is extremely important to make every effort to maximize your workout to the full potential. The three simple tips I’m about to share with you will get you mind and body ready to have your best workout each session. This is a key component to the B2F Training Systems, and one of the keys to our success system.

3 Tips to Getting Fired up for a Super Workout

  1. Write your workout in a Log. “Planning is Everything when it comes to your fitness success”
  2. Proper pre-workout Fuel
  3. The Warm Up is the #1 Factor to super charging all the systems in your body and getting them ready to do the work.

The above tips are simple and anyone can begin using them to improve their workouts and creating the bodies they deserve. I teach all my clients to write their personal fitness plans in a workout log. I have a personal file with workout data for each client I coach. This is just as important when it come to your nutritional plan as well. In this post I won’t go into the specifics of proper pre-meal fueling, but I will stress it’s critical to fuel up before a super workout. If you want to get specific details on nutrition DOWNLOAD OUR FREE NUTRITIONAL CRASH COURSE. You can find it on the right side of the home page of the blog. For theses select few people who really want to enhance their bodies and design a killer physique get more information on The New BoDY Transformation workshop. This 12 week,90 day Body Transformation will change your life. It begins with changing how you think about nutrition and your body and then really dive into the hot-to that most people just don’t know or understand. We will share with you the secrets that only the celebrities and very wealthy are privileged to experience. This course is designed for all ages men and women who are tired of working out and not looking and feeling the way they truly desire. Stop wasting time and start getting results with the B2F Team of Fat Loss Experts.

Tip 3 is one that is near and dear to me , because I see too many people coming into the gym and starting their workouts improperly. I see trainers everyday starting training sessions with clients who walk into the gym and sit right down on a piece of equipment. This is a serious problem and one of the top reasons why so many people get injured and never attain the true results they joined the gym for. B2F Coach start every session with a specific goal in mind, Get the Neural system firing, and internal body temperature raised. We recommend warming up in all three planes of motion, and doing dynamic streches with full range of motion. I will be posting a entire article to this topic in the coming weeks. If this is a topic of value and if anyone would like to receive a ebook on the topic, I will personally create it. All that is required is to comment at the end of this post…

I hope this information assisted all that take action and impediment these simple tips into their workouts.

Till Next time as always Bwell,  Coach Rahz
